I don't see it that way, I see it as reciprocation for the absolutely monumental flood of anti-anything that ain't supportive of hindutva bigotry that the nelly-jai-harm brigade are flooding all of our newsgroups with.

That is the vast majority of anything any of us in these groups see from India as far as usenet goes, it'd be nice to see a few more good Indians telling them to shut the f*** up, as you do see in Aussie newsgroups when Aussie nazis post (you've got no monopoly on nazis, ours just seem to be much less violent and less common than yours, but then our society is a very different kettle of fish as far as education and communication goes, which I think are the two most important elements in eliminating this sort of ignorant bigotry, luckily India is now changing in that respect rapidly, so hopefully many of your problems will disappear just as rapidly).

I have said more times than I can count that I think the vast majority of Indians are probably good people, Hindu-Sikh-Muslim-Christian, it don't really matter, but I have a problem with the nazis I mentioned above, same as I do with their sort from any other country, they just happen to single-handedly spread more bigoted poo than the entire population of usenet other than themselves combined, which is pretty sad.

But I also recognise that a few mouths can make a lot of noise, and is not remotely representative of the average Indian, as I've also said before, and I think the fact that most Indians I've met have been bloody good people is a good sign that this mob are exceptions rather than the norm, which is probably why not a single one of them lives in India any more.

With the information about India I post in response to their propaganda about Australia, it's basically a case of playing "Devils advocate", one of the easiest ways to show a hypocrite for what he is. I wont apologise for what I've said in relation to India, if problems are there they need to be dealt with (and it seems that slowly but surely India is moving in that direction, and again, education and communication spreading will rapidly help with that), although I will apologise if I give the impression that I'm having a go at Indians in general, because that is definitely not my intent, more against your hindutva nazi types, and your government for allowing poo like happens in Goa without taking any real action against it.

We've got plenty of our own problems, but they are blown out of all proportion by the hindutva brigade, whereas I'd like to think that other than my taunting them with the Aryan invasion theory (which I still don't think anyone can say has been adequately proven or disproven) that I haven't actually been that unfair in what I've said, especially when a lot of the time I qualify it by saying I don't feel that most Indians are like those poobags, whereas they do nothing except tar all with the same brush because that is all their small minds are capable of.

But you make your own judgement, like I said, I'm not going to apologise for the content of what I've said, just perhaps the way I've said it at times. One thing to think on though, prior to getting into usenet over 10 years ago I didn't know much about India, and I used to think of it as somewhere I'd love to visit and see, and thought of the Hindu religion as a pbuttive religion on a par with Buddhism, but since their rabid invective against anything not Indian and Hindu over the last 10 years, and everything I've read on India since then to find parallels my opinion has totally changed, I've learnt that the Hindu religion is no different than Christianity or Islam in its' ability to produce hatred, and have also decided there are a hell of a lot of other places in the Asiatic area I'd rather visit first. If that's what they've managed to do to my opinion what do you think they do to everyone else's???

Obviously usenet ain't going to put a dent in anything that happens in the real world, but with "representatives of the country" like these, India really doesn't need enemies.

Although the points I made I'm not sure why you had an issue with, the facts seem apparent that rape is a hell of a lot more prevalent in India than the "reported cases", and Indians themselves are citing cultural reasons for that. Mucous was happy enough to label the West for being rape-happy, is it not fair to throw it all back into context and show what appears to be the reality in India, and put those idiots back in their place? I didn't open the can of worms, I just responded, and that is nearly always the case, in fact I can't think of once I've started a thread out of the blue criticising India, it's always been in response to so-called Indians (as I said, I don't consider them to be remotely representative of true Indians) launching attacks on my country.
