Just as Costello and Howard whom like to attack their fellow Australians on the basis of their religion, Hanson and her cronies wanted to attack their fellow Australians on the basis of their race and their place of origin.
Back then, the great big bogey was "Asians". Today its "Muslims". We managed, with the aid of Multiculturalism to buttimilate and accept the "Asians", so why not "Muslim" Australians? Just as then, today, your fellow Australians may well worship a different god to you, dress differently and talk with an accent but they are Australians like you and I, Nev. Your problem is that you can't or won't accept them, so they feel, quite rightly IMO, alienated from the exclusionary society you seek to create. Its not the Australian society I'm a member of.
