This was not Schapelle Corby's first visit to Bali and so she would have known that locking up baggage would become a necessity so in reality she knew what she was doing and she has refused to do so it has costed her dearly.
The Australian public should not be the nanny to stupid people whom are getting themselves into trouble outside of Australia.
People have to realise that when leaving Australia, you may be entering into another country whose values could be totally different to yours and therefore you must prepare for the worst.
When I was in Dubai, I actually found some paper money but decided NOT to pick it up. The reason that is could have been dropped by the person in front and if they catch you with that money, the punishment could be the chopping off the hand.
I don't care if it an urban legend or not so I left it there. Sometimes travellers need to be cautioned with virtually everything when leaving their own home and Schapelle Corby has now learned a huge lesson. That lesson is now being demonstrated all over Australia and to some parts of the world.
I am sure that her sister Mercedes, her immediate family and her friends now locks her luggage when travelling by plane so it is not an entire waste.
