Various Government have fostered this with funding and welfare for muslim groups further discouraging work. They are thus concerntrated, have very low employment, and intermarriage is actually declining with each generation and there is no sign they are intergrating into Australian society.
The Howard government has capped humanitarian immigration at 13 000 and drastically reduced the family migration programme, increased the standards for qualifying under it.
The migration programme is now mostly send based. Skill migration, especially send Asian migration, has brought much benefit to this country and never caused any problems.
