Ah, Hunter! Let us see what you have got.

Fair enough. But if you don't know anything, if it has no relevance to you, then silly comments about it are out of place. I am speaking in general, of course, not just mythology.
True. That is the privilege of the discoverer, who finds new things, and sets new ways, for the rest of mankind. Getting the animosity of the envious little pots of contagion, in human shape, who desire nothing more than to cut down the tall poppies, is an unfortunate natural consequence. However, that is a price worth paying.
Oh dear. It so happens that I have written the most powerful simulation programs known here, that decide automatically what the best possible alternatives are; and have been applying them with huge success to many complex business and technical situations. In short, there can be no doubt that I have benefited your country considerably, from my professional work. Or else, they would have sacked me long ago, over the period they got rid of 40,000+ people, including more than half from the labs I work in.
True, I would never make a good bullpooter - which is why I am what I am.
I have learnt enough, and now, my job is to go beyond what I have learnt, and *teach*. Teach *new* things. If other people do not want to learn, because what I say is too difficult and extremely challenging, then all I can do is wait till they are ready.

We deal with absolutes, about crimes done. When you do a crime, you got to pay for it, in this life or the next. Whether something is crime, or not, is ultimately decided not on a relativistic scale but on an absolute scale.
Deciding what action is correct, is most certainly not easy. However, here we are helped by tradition, family values, friends, and ultimately our comprehension of mythology, if we are not clever enough to understand the Vedas.
Quite. Just like Rifty, and you.
America at its best 3890Rifty I've noticed the instant reactionary responses, but the funny thing is he can actually be quite civil. In this thread for instance the tone from him...
The simplicity is all on your side, mate, as can only be expected from a civilisation a bit more than two centuries old. I am fine! In Indian literature, there are fairy tales, allegories, history, and also mythology. Of course, you evidently cannot understand any difference between fairy tale-allegory or myth. But any Indian-Hindu can. Like, he can easily tell the difference between the Panchatantra and the Puranas; between some itihaas (history) and legend.
I am only talking about what helps me. I am saying that the European myths mean a lot to me, as I am not a Christian. If I were a Christian, then the monotheistic Christian myths would mean everything to me. But I am not, so the European polytheistic myths have far more relevance to me, in a very deep way.

You do not seem to understand what I have been saying. That mythology is not fiction; it is far more than mere fact; it is transcendental truth. And not just to me, this is so to all Hindus who are happy and proud to be Hindus. I have no doubt that the ancient Greeks and Romans and Norse and Egyptians and also the Australian aborigines also thought more or less the same way.
Maybe, if your mind was something capable of learning or at least understanding what is written by others of a different culture, as opposed to reducing all to a hedonistic boozing brotherhood, you and your kind would need rather less to get drunk and behave badly as a consequence. And thus be less of a threat to the innocents on roads, and elsewhere.
America at its best 3891Rifty Ho-ho. They just offer blind rejection. They do not show any understanding at all of what I am saying. Mere abuse does not amount to...
As I said, you lump everything together as fiction. As any crude mind, lacking in resolution, should. Note: this definition of resolution is technical, like so many horizontal lines on a TV. So your resolution could be say 25 lines, whereas others who understand the difference between fairy tale and mythology could have 1200 lines.
Who is talking about pretence? I was talking about engineering a different and better reality. Doing any engineering *means* taking into account present reality, and changing it to the desired reality.
But I am holding to higher reality, transcending the present, to be made with proper engineering. You did not understand what I am saying. Please read carefully.
So the Drunked Jedi is actually a Christian bigot in disguise? Now that would explain a lot!
