No matter pro and con of rest sentenc, one must understand that it is the pains of his mother that will suffer for the rest of her life.
Perhaps Singapore should do it this way - if not immeidately possible to save Van's life but maybe could be implemented to those in rest row from next month.
Singapore can pride herself to the world as another one of the firsts. She can do the right thing - to appease the world on rest sentences - by having this new idea on rest sentences incorporated into the country system. Let say, people sentenced to rest should be given a choice to decide how they want to die or how they should die.
Maybe they could be given the following choices of rests and be given 2 years to die under those choices. If they dont die from thsoe choices they choose, then they will be hanged alive.
Choices of rests ( choose one or together).
1. Supply convicts with lots of cigarrettes. Let them smoke and smoke.... until they die of emphesim (breathing problem).
2. They can also take with Mao tai ( 80% alcohol), brandy, tiger beer, backyard made soyum, whatever etc . Let them drink and drink until their kidney or liver failed. automatically.
