Energy prices in a market economy are all about supply and demand. If you reduce the supply and demand stays the same, or increases, then the price will rise.

The USSA continues to demand ONE QUARTER of the whole worlds oil, as it has done through the history of cheap oil. Now that we are past Peak Oil, the criminal waste of their progligate gluttony is apparrent even to ferdie.

The USSA has 2.2% of the worlds reserves, produces 10.7% and consumes a whopping 25.9% of global oil output!!

The greedy gluttons, a mere 5% of the worlds population are sucking up fully ONE QUARTER of the entire earths limited oil.

China with 20% of the world population, 400% greater than the USSA, consumes a mere 6% of world oil production.

That means the average American energy glutton consumes more than 10 times the oil than the average Chinese.. 1000% more.

Here we see one tory cretin BRAGGING about how the Luddites in Kanberra have manipulated the energy market, imposing Central Control to destroy $12,000,000,000 .. yes, that's twelve BILLION dollars worth of clean green alternative energy, on the basis of COMPLETE BULLpoo that won't save a single Orange Bellied Parrot!

This is an example why economic growth in Australia has steadily declined since this mob of fossils, all in the pay of the fossil fuel industry, took government.

The amazing thing is that they not only admit how their tory socialism has destroyed Billions of dollars of investment, costing thousands of jobs, and pushing up the price of remaining energy sources, such as petrol, but they actually BRAG about it?

We even had Slyvie beaming about oil price rises due to threats to supply, arguing that destroying supply was a conservation measure because it forced the price higher and then people would not be able to buy as much!

What is wrong with these ideological idiots who replace the Free Market with Central Canberra Control in order to DESTROY BILLIONS of dollars of economic investment in renewable energy?

No one claims wind will supply ALL our energy requirement, but it will certainly meet some, in a DISTRIBUTED network of many small production units that is far less vulnerable to person attack than a few large power stations.

Any sensible energy policy would allow ALL alternative energy sources, and free market compebreastion. Nuclear is the only cheap and effective method for supplying electricity in most parts of the world but a country blessed with a variety of other energy resources, such as solar and wind would be INSANE to politically ban the development of those technologies as we face a future of energy scarcity and the resulting PRICE RISES WHICh GOUGE YOUR POCKET EVERY TIME YOU FILL UP AT THE BOWSER!!!

Blocking investment and distorting market forces by tory socialists bent on enforcing Central Soviet Economic Kontrol is certainly what is happening, but the claim it threatened an endangered bird is COMPLETE BULLpoo.. as the governments own reports indicated.

The facts are simple;

The Orange Bellied Parrot has never been seen at the Bald Hills site.

Six existing windfarms, approved previously by Kanberra's arbitrary decision making that adds to market uncertainty, have never end a single Orange Bellied Parrot.. and that includes a windfarm in Tasmania, where the birds breeding grounds are, which is licensed to kill up to six of these endangered birds, no questions asked! Even so, the only actual recorded OBP rest from a man made structure was not at a windfarm, but a bird that flew into a Lighthouse. Apparently next week the new uber-Greenie nutters in Kanberra are banning High rise buildings! B^D

Total power has gone to Howard head. He thinks he's an instant expert on everything. A couple of days ago he told the country what the English syllabus in schools should be. He is so against free markets and choice that he has attacked the workers in the labour market, FORCING them into inequitable contracts, destroyed investment in clean renewable energy, at a time when energy prices are SKYROCKETING, and now planes to dictate what your children learn, the typical mind control that dictators everywhere like to impose.

In years to come, as extreme climate events worsen and the price of petrol rises inexorably those who have not planned for the changes will simply be unable to deal with the situation. Every intelligent nation on the planet is frantically developing alternative energy.. but not backward looking Howard and the tories, they are tugging their forelocks at the Queen, manipulating the market under Central control, and destroying investment.

TWELVE BILLION DOLLARS worth of investment in clean energy alternatives.. that's the minimum impact on supply, that the tories FORCE you pay for in price rises on existing energy sources.

Apart from the basic stupidity of tory Central Control, why does tory socialism operate to DECREASE public benefits, in the reverse to traditional Socialism? Because those fossils in Kanberra serve the Fossil Fuel industry, not the Australian people.
