I hope not.
But some people should get a reality grip. I have seen many Kiwi posts whinge about Aussie self indulgent ignorance and normally disregard this rubbish. But the crap thrown around the Corby case and now the follow-up "must be an Indonesian" sub plot is just so revealing about the Aussie psyche.
There is NO evidence now nor presented at the trial that could have established her innocence or even an alternative guilty party. Being a "good ol" Aussie girl doesn't count. Being pretty doesn't count. Having Channel Nine paying the family big bugs doesn't count. Having someone who talked to someone at a bar, who heard a rumour that their next door neighbour thought there were drugs on the plane doesn't count. Hell there is probably a drug parcel on every plane for all we know. Saying that all Indonesian customs officers and police tell lies but the defendant was telling the truth is also stretching belief. This is pure Aussie self indulgence and racism at it's worse. On what we know of the proceedings we could "buttume" the judge liked her and therefore ONLY gave her 20 years.
And now with the powder incident, within 5 seconds of it being revealed out comes the racist inspired conspiracy theories on how it was the Indonesians. Yeah right. Let's put the odds of that at 1% and the odds that it is a Corby evangelist, a crackpot, an Asian hating racist or a plain old joker of Australian origin at 99%.
