There is no justification for dragging our feet on this issue one day longer than necessary.
Singapore has taken the Aussies' hoo haas into consideration.. Unless, the law is changed and the hanging commuted, there is nothing that Singapore could do to avoid the hoo haas. Surely, you are not suggesting that we buckle to pressure now ?
Since we could not help to remove the pains of the Nyuyen family or do anything to stop the hoo haas, it is better to hang him on schedule and get over with it. The quicker it is , ....the less painful it will be.
It is a question of maintaining the our intergrity, our law, and our sovereignity against the demand of the overbearing Australian public, Aussie media and interests groups. Australia should be the one who should think about maintaining good long term relationship with us and be sensitive to our principles ....
How? By bowing to pressure, and to kowtow to bullies.
This is no business deals where conflict could be resolved in a business like maner. This concern justice, the rule of law...and the sovereignity of Singapore....these matters could never be compromised to appease unreasonable demands and pressure. There are time in life, when we have to take a stand.....it is now such a time.
