Steve Dufour a ˇcrit :
I think that, on the contrary, it should. Australia along with South Africa, two countries where apartheid was a reality (remember the "Keep Australia white" policy), are faced with deep rooted realities, and it hurts, but it would be foolish to deny it. The quicker australians face their history of racism and hatred-ignorance of what's not white, the quicker they will come out of these difficult times.
True. This is not only unfair, this is completetly unrelated. Recent events in France, burned down cars and garbage bins, are socialy motivated as the RG inquiry showed and no racial motivation have been involved. (appart in Fox news and CNN, but thanks god, there are other sources of information). These riots have ended as quickly as they started and the end of civilization in France as some predicted can be resumed to a few burned garbage bins and some articles in the anglo-saxon press (who knows a lot about garbage bins).
Rather amuzing...
On the contrary, there will be other racialy motivated riots and crimes in Australia, and I will comment them in the next weeks on this forum. This is only the begining. Nothing suprizing, I predicted these events years ago when I lived in Australia, where people have a big problem, not only with beer, but with hypocrisy. We are seing now what an australian is looking like when hypocrisy vanishes after a few cans of beer, and it's not pretty.
Pity for an otherways charming country.
