What is required now is for religious leaders and those knowlegeable in the scriptures of various faiths to discuss those ideas peaceably. Violence against those who have been indoctrinated with ideas other than one's own doesn't solve any problems. It only increases those problems. Moneys are being wasted on weapons of war that should be used for peaceful purposes to give peoples a better standard of living.
The atbreastude that Jesus had was that we should do good to those who hurts us - a lesson which sometimes Christians have not learnt. In Australia that means that we do not take the punishment for wrong-doing, crimes into our hands. There is a police and a legal system to determine the issues.
However, I live in a part of Sydney that in the Depression, War and early post-War II years had little crime, as I knew it and as told me by others. It was in the 1950's that crime began to increase.
