Why not. All the world religions eschew mind altering drugs, when you look at teh damage they cause it seems a wise teaching.
Failing to follw such teachings has long been a problem, as it clearly proved to be for young Michelle.
If she is intelligent, she will learn from the experience, and turn from drugs.
If she had been faithful to her religion, she wouldn't be in this fix.
The faithful are enjoined to help each other, not to f*** each otehr up on drugs, or indulge in pointless blame and punishment of the unfortunate.
So why are you so uncharitable to this unfortunate young woman.

but religion lies at teh core of our civilization.
Most of our Science produced by men of faith, the great art the acts of deep compbuttion that resonate through the centuries.
Athiesm is the fantasy.. it has failed to produce a single great enduring civilization.
You can't blame the spiritual teaching for the betrayal by people who don't understand it or are anbreasthetical to it's precepts, (not sure which group you belong to, while dismissing the beliefs of others you don't seem to have any of your own you think worth sharing). The great minds of history have had no trouble reconciling faith and science, Pascal, Newton, Bacon.. but many smaller minds, typically people of little scientific accomplishment, presume to speak 'on behalf of reason' and foolishly condemn faith which they clearly apprehend only dimly.
Try to be more objective and open, Like Bacon, a man of deep and profound religious faith, who formulated and developed the Scientific Method which lesser beings foolishly claim (but rarely demonstrate) is anbreasthetical to the faith of the man who gifted it to them. ;-)
