Did most of my fishing off rocks and from the beach, but pulling in good sized Spangled Emperor, Trevally, Bluebone, Rock Cod (etc.etc.) as fast as your line can hit the water was magic, and being able to take a half hour stroll in the morning and come back with a few crays and a handful of turtle eggs for breakfast was magic too. Caught one Rock Cod longer than my leg, I didn't know the bastards even got that big. Sharks were the biggest catches and the biggest problem, used to call them the blowies of the North.

Ahhhhh, yeah I now work looking after some of the education side's "guvmint" servers over in WA. Much preferred my previous job but the damn yanks went and came up with accurate GPS and pretty much wiped out our industry, thank f*** for the first Gulf War that kept us in business for a few years longer due to selective availability, otherwise I might never have made it to Darwin. Work with a great group of people now though so that more than makes up for the poo that it is to work for the government.
