Court moved against Meera
LAHORE: A pebreastion was filed against Lollywood actress Meera in the Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday for her "bold performance" in Indian film Nazar, ARY news channel reported.
The pebreastion, filed by Muzaffar Hussain Askari, stated that Meera had performed in immoral scenes that did not match with Pakistan's religious and social values, the report added.
The pebreastion would be presented before a two-member SHC bench for hearing, the report said. The Religious Affairs Ministry and Culture and Tourism Ministry were also made party in the pebreastion, the report added. The court was asked to ban the film in Pakistan and bound Meera from working on such projects in future, the report said.
The pebreastioner's lawyer told the channel that the court was asked to ban the film in Pakistan, as some scenes in the film were not reflective of Pakistani society.
Govt buttures Meera security: Meera said on Thursday that Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and Information Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed had buttured her security after she received rest threats from "extremist elements", Daily Times correspondent Shoaib Ahmed reported. The government had also provided her with guards, she said.
