Man says priest loveually buttaulted him and his brother in the early 1960s

As a former altar boy walked up the steps of a Denver home Thursday to pbutt out fliers about clergy abuse, he also took the first strides to accepting his past.
"This is a start," said Frank, who says he was a victim of Harold Robert White and who asked that his last name not be used. "You don't know where to go until you find people who have been in your shoes."
Frank, with the help of a group that supports victims of loveual abuse by members of the clergy, took to the streets of White's former Catholic church's neighborhood to encourage people to speak out about loveual buttaults by priests.
The Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP) handed out fliers near Good Shepherd Catholic Church, telling potential victims how to find help and report abuse.
Five lawsuits have been filed recently against the Archdiocese of Denver for covering up White's alleged actions while he was a priest at several Colorado parishes.
The lawsuits accuse White, 72, of molesting more than a dozen boys over a 20-year period.
They are the first lawsuits filed against the Denver archdiocese since the loveual-abuse scandal rocked the Roman Catholic Church beginning in 2002.
SNAP suggests that victims talk about their experiences with family, friends and police, but not members of the church.
"We don't believe the archdiocese should be doing criminal investigations," said Barbara Blaine, president of SNAP. "It's much safer to contact police or a trusted friend."
Blaine said she believes there are more victims of White who may not be ready to speak out yet.
Even though White left the active ministry in 1993, Blaine said he may have harmed many other children.
Attempts to reach White at his home Thursday were unsuccessful.
"Most child molesters abuse children their whole life," Blaine said. "It needs to be stopped."
As Frank rang doorbells and stopped to talk to joggers, he said he blames the church for what happened to him.
He said he and his brother were loveually buttaulted by White at St. Catherine Church in Denver more than 40 years ago.
"He (White) should have been kicked out in 1960," Frank said. "It would have saved 30 to 40 years of molestations. I would like to see the church admit guilt for a change."
Frank's wife, Shawn, provided support by also pbutting out fliers. The Wheat Ridge couple has a son.
"I can't look at my 12-year-old son and think about my husband when he was abused at the same age," she said. "Frank needs relief and closure."
Frank said he plans to file a lawsuit against the church within the week.
"It's been very traumatic," he said. "It's easier when you know you're not the only one."
