CHURCH WOMAN MIRED IN CHRISTIAN CATHEDRAL love SCANDAL

Church lady to see kids Judge tells St. Pat's scandal couple to get drink & drug tests By Barbara Ross and Bill Hutchinson Daily News Staff Writers New York Daily News Tuesday, August 23, 2005 Philip (below) and Laura DeFilippo (above) at Westchester Family Court, where they sat 6 feet apart and didn't speak.

The leggy church lady mired in a St. Patrick's Cathedral love scandal was granted permission yesterday to visit her children, but she and her estranged husband must first undergo alcohol and drug testing.

Laura and Philip DeFilippo sat 6 feet apart and never looked at each other during yesterday's hearing in Westchester Family Court.

It was the first time the couple had been in the same room since he had her barred from their Eastchester home for threatening to stab him when he confronted her about an alleged affair with St. Patrick's rector Msgr. Eugene Clark.

Laura DeFilippo worked as Clark's secretary, reportedly earning as much as $100,000 a year.

Philip DeFilippo served his 46-year-old wife with divorce papers earlier this month after he had a private eye videotape her and the 79-year-old priest entering and leaving a Hamptons motel.

Both Laura DeFilippo and Clark have denied any shenanigans. Clark, however, has resigned from his top post at the landmark midtown church.

Judge Kathie Davidson allowed Philip DeFilippo to keep temporary custody of the couple's two children.

The judge granted Laura DeFilippo unsupervised visitation rights as long as she didn't bring a "third party." Attorneys for both sides declined to comment as to whether the third party the judge referred to was Clark, whom the DeFilippo children call Uncle Genie.

"The court has not made a decision who ultimately should have custody," Davidson told the couple. "This is just temporary custody. This is subject to change. This is just an interim order."

But Davidson sternly ordered the DeFilippos not to make disparaging remarks about each other in front of their children.

"I'm not suggesting that. I'm ordering that," the judge said.

Davidson also ordered that a court-appointed psychologist evaluate the couple and their kids.

The feuding husband and wife, who were married 20 years ago by Clark, also must submit to alcohol and drug testing, the judge ordered after reviewing a report from the law guardian of the DeFilippo kids.

Law Guardian John Pappalardo said in his report that the DeFilippos' 14-year-old daughter told him her mother often came home late with alcohol on her breath.

The truth about Islam and Muslims

The person mission of Jesus stated in the Christian bible:

"Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not so send peace, but a sword. "For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. "And a man's foes shall be they of his own household. - Matthew 10:34-36.
