Probably not, although a number of white nationalists decided it was going to be a group that represented these somewhat bizarre views. I don't have the time to explain the dynamics of that particular net war, but it was fought long and hard. It also did something I have never seen on USENET before, real "lefties" like good old Ross, took sides with real "righties" like Hanchicken and Dare. I know all of the people, I make it a point to meet them in real life. I'm not sure if you can get more right wing than Dare, Hanchicken and Col whilst staying sane. And yet, they joined the camp of Che, Ross and others who are described as "left".
I think "left" and "right" has no meaning in a news group that is supposed to celebrate the wonder of Australia, and the people who live in this magnificent place.
I am pleased that Wicks and Rakali and Ross and Wiley and Dare and Lucas and many others have deemed it OK to meet face to face. Most of whom have become "best mates".
Dunno. I thought it was about having "best mates" regardless of trivial things like skin colour or a political bent. According to a few in this forum, I'm not "true-blue". Buggered if I know what qualifies, I have served in the Regular Army (Lo a pommie ending up as a MEDIC in the Australian Army, whouda thunk THAT could ever happen), I worked the Number 2 Lead concentrator in the Isa, I walked from Oberon to Brisbane in my youth, I managed to pick up a prize that said "Australian Exporter of The Year", I have lived in and worked in Aboriginal communities in the top end. I'm a fisho that likes drinking the odd beer or 12 with mates, apart from fancy degrees obtained in later life, I'm a child of Norlane High School, Geelong. Still, by a few here, not "true-blue".

Shrug, who knows? I like Wicks, I love Rak the mad woman, and I am glad I have been able to make a load of these people, "left", "right", "black", "white" into great mates.
For me, that is "true-blue".
