A culture is a living thing, it is not the PROPERTY of some self appointed elite, establishment, coven, cult or politically motivated group such as those who INVENTED a name for themselves, attempting to hijack true blue by declaring they have patent rights on the Capitalized version True Blue! B^D
True blue culture is a broadly identifiable thread in our multicultural society, it's traditions grew out of notions of A Fair Go for ALL, thus any Asian Australian who practices the cultural forms of true blue, IS true blue. Just as John 'Simpson' Kirkpatrick and Weary Dunlop exhibited true blue spirit in their war service, so did other heroes such as Jack Ho, a 'Chinese-Australian'.
But there is a group, Ned Latham is one of the few of them left, who refuse to accept that true-blues are recognised by their ACTIONS and their BEHAVIOUR. Ned claims that certain true blue Aussies should be excluded, and he always has a series of feeble pretexts, but the pattern is obvious.. they are always Black or Asian, or some other non-Aryan ethnic group.
For example Ned claimed Cathy Freeman, an unbuttuming and refreshingly unsophisticated kid who charmed people with her simple honesty and fair dinkum nature, couldn't be included as a true blue, according to Ned, because she was 'mainstream' B^p
On which basis he must also exclude the late Slim Dusty, because you don't come more 'mainstream' than having a state ceremony at which everyone pays their respects.
Or the time Ned claimed that our greatest painter, Albert Namatjira, the man who first painted the bush in it's true colours instead of the poncy immigrants who used the colours of the English Countryside, wasn't true blue, to Ned, because his traditional background was Arunta!? Well of course the traditional background of most immigrants is English or Scots, Irish or Welsh.. but then they are white, so ned doesn't object! B^p
You won't hear Ned saying that Slim Dusty wasn't true blue because he was an active, practicising Christian, but a black man can't be an active practising Arunta man! B^p
Ned is simply a racist with a huge and tedious set of slimy but totally fatuous pretexts he uses to try and exclude non- whites from what he thinks is his private club simply because he and handful of cronies from One Nation decided to put Capital Letters on something that belongs to ALL AUSSIES, and then claim they own it!!!!! Conversely, mad dogs such as Ned Latham claims automatic membership based on ethnic group membership, despite demonstrating that he is clueless about the cultural attributes of true blue: A fair go, helping hand for the new chum, wry self-deprecation, a healthy disdain for authority... or even basic common decency.
