Hmmm, Id agree with that.
I can quite happily live without meat, I know, as I have done so.. and many of the products of the meat industry. Unfortunately, I have to eat what I can afford and am given.
But Thats a far harder cause to rally for than putting it in terms of unnecesary dissolution in the name of vanity.
You cant expect people who enjoy their steaks to give them up, and use the fur trade as a reason.
Thats where so many valid arguments fall down, if you ask me. All or nothing. You'll simply find resistence.
I see we really did meet on the wrong grounds here, or I did.
But while I personaly agree with you here, almost 100%, you'll find stiff resistence on such a stand.
Unfortunately, human history is based on hunting and gethering. I doubt we'll ever stop eating meat as a population.
I still find it repulsive that animals are harversted simply for their fur. And will rally against that.
But eating meat, is far too common on the basics.
If we had people given the choice of having to dissolution their own animal or pop down to the grocer for some decent vegies and such, youd see meat consumption fall over. Sure, there will be those hard core farmer types, etc, but thats just life, and I've seen these types chainsaw a live pigs head off. It was quick etc, but still damn horrid.
But as long as you can buy steaks, mince, chops or sausages, it's a fact that meat will be consumed by the general joe who doesnt see the gorey side of the food they eat.
