No they weren't, in fact those I've brought in have been pretty good, biggest problem so far is the fact that we are currently only allowed to give 3 month contracts so they tend to go off and pick up a more stable job elsewhere rather than hang around.

Like I said, haven't actually had any probs with people I've dragged in. But then we get back to that "big business" thing that you obviously (moreso everytime you post) have absolutely no f***ing concept of. They have things like redeployment (try looking it up) and other nasty things that tend to embed workers that aren't worth a pinch of poo in places they shouldn't be, and they have things called "permanency" to protect them. But in your "huge" business I'm sure you know all about that don't you....

Sounds like my last workplace, a small business where you could get rid of poo workers without much drama at all, the boss didn't need to make their lives hell, we did it for him. Been in both styles of work environment, you obviously have not.

Really? Care to name one? Other than having to go through 6 months of hell doing something called a performance review? Unions make things very difficult, and if you work in an environment where the unions have been involved then it is probly already that style of environment before you ever get there. That being said if it weren't for unions we'd all be working for peanuts. But we need a balance. Employees as a whole shouldn't be protected, only workers should be protected.

The unfair dismissal laws well and truly need to be revamped, but the govt is going way too far on what they're doing.
