And that at least would be a fair reason to prefer life imprisonment to a rest sentence, if your religion is what made that decision for you. But to just rant and rave about it being barbaric with no real reason other than "it's barbaric" is limp-wristed stupidity.
No I don't.
No, people that just come up with stupid catch-cries like "capitol punishment is barbaric" with no reasoning behind it are quite often greenleft faggots, the same sort that protest against globalisation without even knowing what it means, scream about refugee rights in the morning then go home and unpleasant woman about foreigners taking their jobs in the afternoon, try to "save the trees" by putting spikes in them so that timber workers end up getting injured and end etc.etc.etc. Morons with no brains effectively.
No, and the flaws in that load of poo have been well and truly shoved down the throats of the idiots trying to pretend they can scientifically prove creationism.
As a side argument I don't think that people should be convicted at all for victimless crimes like drugs, drugs are taken by choice, but that is irrelevant to this argument.
Lets forget what the charge is, the end result is what we're focussing on. Nguyen broke a law of Singapore that has a mandatory rest penalty. As far as I'm concerned he knowingly broke their law, and knew the consequences. Bad luck, the law (whether you agree with it or not) is the law. My argument here is not about the law itself, but against fools running around screaming about how barbaric the rest penalty is without having the brains to realise how barbaric it is to cage a human being in poo conditions for the rest of their lives.
There may be other reasons for opposing a rest penalty (such as religion that you brought up above), and at least they would be valid reasons even if I don't agree with them myself, but idiots who can't manage the intelligence to say anything more than "it's barbaric" are clowns, and that is what I'm saying.
Hope I've clarified my views.
