Don't Forget Schapelle Corby Verdict on TV on Thursday
|
| # Yeah, drama, tragedy, comedy? The Corby Case is full of holes: (1) Who, but the most incompetent drug smuggler, would put a very large packet, of transparent plastic, in a zip-up bodyboard bag, when... (2) going to a nation which has the rest penalty for drug smuggling? (3) Why would such person take pot to a nation when a better sale value is obtainable in Australia? (4) Who is Corby supposed to have received the drugs from in Australia, and to whom were they to be delivered in Indonesia? (5) Why should Corby, who has been to Bali several times in the past, suddenly turn drug smuggler, to get caught in such "obvious" fashion? (6) Why use a zip-up bag, one from which anyone could steal your precious drugs? (7) She has consistently and emphatically claimed to be innocent - why can't a lie-detector test be applied to help resolve this? (8) If baggage handlers in Australia were involved in criminal activity at the time of her departure, why is this not admissible evidence? (9) Unlike the "Bali 9", Corby didn't have the drugs concealed on her person, was not part of a gang, and had no apparent contacts in either country. (10) If she was a loner who was importing drugs solely for fun-on-the-beach with mates, then who are such mates, and can any of them be found, and questioned? The final judgement in this trial is during the coming week, and will be televised live on Channel Seven (refer: "The Herald-Sun"; 20-5) It can be said that the judges are as much on trial in this case as is the accused. |
