Randy,
You make a few points here and there but for the most part your commentary indicates that you really don't understand the work of a lawyer, or the legal system, very well. So be it. You're not the first and you won't be the last.
One example:
In the last reported year, about 1.5% of civil cases filed in federal court made it to trial. And rarely do we need "subject matter experts" to get early disposition. I think the best piece I have ever read on the state and nature of the software industry was written by Judge Vaughan Walker in his final opinion in US vs. Oracle.
Engineering as a career. 3964but you don't have ANY numbers at all ... here you go: the most recent stats show a trial disposition rate of about 15% in...
The cases that go on endlessly tend to be patent and anbreastrust cases ... the ones where you are most likely to find scores of "subject matter experts" .. in the patent cases most of them are engineers.
The whole country is broken, Randy. We're no longer smart enough to deliver bottled water to people on the verge of bane dehydration in New Orleans. Wake up, fella. To blame it all on the lawyers just makes you sound like a whiney little snot who once had a case go the wrong way.
Liz
