Nolo Press is to be congratulated for making available to the average public a whole raft of do-it-yourself law books on a wide variety of subjects, problems, situations.
I think www.nolo.com is where to go.
They are run by some lawyers, and lots of lawyers don't like them and they have been repeatedly sued by ABA and I think they have not lost the lawsuits.
I have actually used some of their publications and saved probably thousands of dollars.
Also, you should know that if you have an uncontested divorce on your hands, there are actually a bunch of do it yourself divorce books out there. All quite cheap on Amazon as used books. I gather that in at least quite a few states, its pretty easy. Get a lawyer into the picture and each spouse will have to fund each lawyer to the tune of $20-40K, from what I'm told. considering the divorce rate, Its billions of big bucks into the bottom feeders' Mercedes and BMWs and yachts and Palm Beach condos.
