Of the three ends I've had, none would have been solved by this scenario.
The first, I was sixteen, in love, and living independently.... (yep, guess I was a single, young unmarried woman).
The second, I was married, going through a rough patch in my marriage, had three children and two step-children already, and living overseas.
The third, I was seperated, physically very ill and on all sorts of medication.
We all know that women have no knowledge of the existence of the custody time percentage scale reflecting the amount of cash they are awarded; thus it is nothing more than a lucky coincidence that they get paid more money to keep dad away from the children.
But your question was about why everyone criticizes. Because it challenges social norms - because it's "not what they did" - people need to validate their own behaviour & their own choices, and they do that by encouraging others to do what they did.
I foster a 15 year old girl who has been desperately trying to locate her biological father. I've been counselling her, saying "you really need to think this through" and "he might not want to know you" and stuff like that.
I guess we really are quite rare and special after all!
There's also these major stereotypes about single mums being welfare recipients and uneducated and so on...
And an uncircumcised privates really is *much* better than a circumcised one.
