Hell, none of these CEO's are visionary. I've worked for a half dozen large companies in the last 20 years. I can't think of one person up the rung that has EVER come across as the least bit visionary or having very strong leadership skills. What they have is the ability to place themselves very carefully in the right situations and with the right friends to keep them moving along. Even those that completely trash company after company and leave f***ed up stockholders and employees in their wake will keep getting on getting on in the old boys-girls network. Remember, the CEO is a celebrity now. They walk on water and demand that you genuflect in their presence. True visionaries and leaders and the people that keep getting things done are NEVER promoted. First, they are needed to keep things getting done. Second, they are needed as cannon fodder when a decision from above is f***ed up and they happen to be the project manager of the said decision. Third, anyone that does not stick their tongue firmly up corporate butthole will NEVER get promoted past lower level management.
Thanks to Bush and the current congress, we are already down the road BACK to the Gilded Age. Which is their goal.
