But the ones I see in the USSA where it happens a lot seem to be protesting the GOVERNMENTS actions, trying to get the attention of Government and media, and demanding that government live up to the values supposedly represented by that flag.

In other words.. quite a few kinds of motivation.

There was nothing about the cartoons being to 'highlight Islamic Intolerance'

Any Muslim reading the original might have thought it highlighted non-Muslim intolerance by asking them to 'respect' anyone who offended them.. for instance Alan Jones saying "f*** Allah" or "come to North Cronulla to support the Leb and Wog bashing day."
