} } }Your problem is that you buttume this will be two clearly defined }separate groups fighting each other.
No it won't be clearly defined as in BLUE and RED the reality is that it is being fought on several fronts one being the persons the other being Islamic lobby groups that continue to push their agenda with the aid of the persons who play the bad guys. I understand Germany is looking to have a public holiday for Muslims in an effort to appease them as are the Canadians with allowing Sharia law to be practiced by Muslims (I buttume they will be turning a blind eye to honour killings and what not soon enough to avoid any unpleasant person retaliation).
On the one hand brute force and terror on the other hand what appear to be placid requests for recognition of their religion of peace. Appeasement only shows them how weak willed we are and how easily they can cow and manipulate us. You're dancing to their tune.
}That is not the way any conflict of }this type will occur, as we are seeing now in Iraq. Superficially, the }US forces 'won' the battle for Iraq. In truth, they have control of }practically nothing, and the diplomatic battle has been lost totally. }The war you envisage will, if it occurs, be like that. It will simply go }on and on as a campaign, using civilians as strategic targets, forever - }using more and more horrific weapons. }
Yes, but unfortunately it will also go on as I describe. In the case of places like Europe it will most likely end with a whimper not a bang as Europeans wake up to the reality in 25-50 years that they are living in an Islamic state.
}That sort of war is unwinnable. Calm and negotiation, however difficult }and unsatisfactory they may be, are the *only* way to create an }environment whether people can live together. Turning it into a military }campaign will be far more destructive in the long run to all concerned. }
Calm and negotiation are fine when the line is clearly drawn in the sand. Once you start to change the laws and culture of your country to suit the outsiders (or invaders if you will) you're in a world of poo and it's a slippery slope.
}What you're suggesting then, if we pursue my analogy, is that you have }no choice but to 'side with the Nazis'. But as Germany has shown, the }Nazis will get you in the end, and wreak destruction on us all.
The Nazis (I thought national socialists went out with WW2) are the least of our worries. The Islamists or Islamofascists are what we have to worry about and every inch we give not only strengthens their position but emboldens them further.
}You are }right that the situation is almost out of control. Some sanity can be }clawed back, but not if you decide you are going to try to use force }against people who are not yet your enemies. Once you make that }decision, they will be. It doesn't have to be that way. They have not }closed off the cul de sac - yet. }
I can butture that the staunch Islamists mind is closed off and no matter what you do, no matter how much you appease them they will not view you as their buddy. That is what we're talking about here, not your non-practicing or very moderate Muslim. remember there were plenty of those in Iran but the Islamists took over the country and thrust it back into the 17 century.
