Yep, unfortunately. It just encourages the people-smuggling trade and encourages rich f***s that want to play refugee to pay those people-smugglers to bypbutt the legitimate refugees who can't afford to be "smuggled" here.

Would agree with you entirely on all of the above. And the economic refugees should have Tattoos Pictures to their foreheads "fraudulent bastards, never to return to Australia" and kicked right out, because they are holding up the processing of honest refugees, and at the same time also trying to bypbutt legitimate migrants who have a damn hard time getting in here in the first place. A very good friend of mine had to go through hell to get PR status here, yet these fraudulent so-called refugees think they can just walk in and unpleasant woman when we don't roll out the red carpet. f*** 'em.

Agreed.

Because our families built that house, while others didn't bother. Our families are kind enough to let in unfortunate and-or good people from the other houses where others crapped on the floors rather than building, that's called generosity. If people want to rant at us because we wont let them have a bedroom straight away I reckon the best response is "f*** you then, go home you ungrateful bastard", (just to use the same analogy 8 ).

But the analogy is flawed in the respect that no-one faces that risk after leaving their country and reaching a refugee camp, if anything they are more likely to risk this closer to home so yet another reason to process overseas applicants before the queue-jumpers arriving here via the people-smuggler highway.

Would agree entirely, but unfortunately you don't know the prevailing situation until an evaluation has been done, and generally that evaluation is what will result in the initial decision on their status.

Unfortunately if we were to turn our detention centres into anything other than the current holiday camps we host the greenleft would be bleeding even more tampons than they already do. Sad reality of the situation, and unfortunately the world listens to their deceptive bleatings. A strong deterrent would be to say "well you're safe and cosy, have a nice wait while we process those doing the right thing and waiting closer to home in much harsher conditions, we might eventually get to you rich frauds.", Yeah it costs money to keep them there, but give it a year or two and you'd see the numbers drop drastically, just as we did when mandatory detention was introduced, and after the hijacked Tampa was turned away, despite the naive bleating of the greenleft claiming that it wouldn't make a difference. poo, I seem to recall one vessel even tried to bypbutt Australia and make for New Zealand after that, obviously deterrents do work (and yes, I'm in favour of capital punishment for paedophiles, rapists and liquidateers too, the notion of an eye for an eye sits very well with me!)

Compare it to anyone that would have legitimate grounds for refugee status and I think the conditions would be much better in every which way than what they are running from, if not do they really have grounds to come here in the first place??? Some Aussies live in worse conditions, my opinion would be to worry about them first.

Months only turn into years if they launch appeal after appeal, in effect taking advantage of our generosity of giving them chance after chance to try again, whereas many places boot them on an initial decision of "nope". Perhaps our main crime is our generosity, and maybe we should emulate these other countries and decide that "no means no".

Most definitely.

Would agree, the initial decision making process turnaround time is more than adequate, but considering the complaints about the time taken for appeals, and since they obviously don't have the patience to wait for this (because things obviously weren't that hellish at home, otherwise it would be well worth the wait), I'd suggest we make first decision final and then all the suffering will end and everything will be sweet.
