For the record, I have said earlier that I also believe Habib's activities raise questions that I for one would like to know the real answers of. As far as I can gather from what is reported in the press, and I don't discount a lot of it, his activities appear suspicious at least.

I suspect that is the point Shearman is trying to make, but he can speak for himself. I also think he's being a bit obtuse by stating it as if it were an absolute fact and not just a legal one, as it's misleading.
From what I've read and seen, I wouldn't go further than to say he's a person sympathiser, but that remains to be seen - if it ever does. The fact that nothing emerged from his GB experience in proving he's a person cannot be discounted.
