Yes, islam certainly lags behind 'christianity' in a number of areas and you dont see too many 'christians' demanding that democracy be abandoned and a return to just what the bible purportedly requires, but then islam also hasnt managed to adjust to much of the change in modern society at anything like the rate that 'christianity' has either. Its part of the reason that moslem countrys lag the west so dramatically. Hardly any of them have anything like a decent democracy yet.
The west gave up on theocracys quite a while ago now.
Its taking islam a lot longer to do that, but it is happening.
