The reality is that the US got into the position where they were able to buy up every significant production facility in Cuba, which resulted in the population existing in semi-slavery and poverty and finally resulted in an uprising which culminated in the yanks being thrown out and communists gaining control. That's the reality. Arguing whether the rebellious mob had guns or machettes is irrelevant - arguing whether the US military invasion occurred with or without shots being fired is irrelevant. The result of the second invasion was that the US installed a pro-US government that became progressively more corrupt and that sold off Cuba's major buttets to US companies which further resulted in the Cuban population in general being exploited and in total poverty. The outcome of that situation was that the communists (whom I don't support) gained absolute power which they have retained for 50 odd years.
The reality is the outcome for the general population of Cuba.
