" Prime Minister John Howard has dismissed a proposed summit on petrol prices as a talkfest that will achieve nothing."

He will hold a talkfest where he tells others to do what they were already doing anyway, 'denounce terrorism' (except state terror liquidateing Iraqi men women and children) ..blah blah blah...
But he won't hold a summit where he could put $4,788,000,000 dollars back into the pockets of hard pressed petrol purchasers he is gouging with a tax on a tax! B^p

"The motoring group NRMA has called an emergency summit to discuss soaring petrol prices amid predictions fuel will hit $1.45 a litre at city bowsers this week.
The NRMA is inviting state and federal governments, oil companies, the Australian Consumers buttociation, and the Australian Compebreastion and Consumer Commission (ACCC) to attend the crisis meeting in Sydney on September 22.
Mr Howard said he was painfully aware of the impact soaring petrol prices were having on ordinary Australians."
