If you had lived for any reasonable period of time in some of these countries the answer, in most cases would be clearly evident. I have no intention of applying for a Qantas pilot's licence. I have done all the 'high-flying' I can stomach. Besides, the format has probably changed since I obtained it as a keepsake and it would have lost it's currency. However, an unscrupulous person could still use it in some areas it to obtain certain influence, benefits and privilages.
Sorry to have to correct you, but Pahar Ghanj is also a correct spelling as used by the Indian MFA and their Home Affairs and Police Depts. Not found in tourist brochures.
