I have printed out a few offical documents from germany. One is a "Manual for Germany" It is intended for those immigrating to Germany, but it has English on the left side and German on the right, which makes it great for building vocabuary. I need a real dictionary by my side to grasp some of the words they do not translate. - I am using the Pons "KompaktWsrterbuch" Which I did pick up at a bookstore in words, and it has almost every word in audio to learn the sound. It has to be one of the greatest websites that is free.

My German would have to improve much better than it already is. Unless they would like an view in English from an American making his way in the country. That is non-military.
Maybe I will spend 2-3 weeks again one year. I have only seen the western part of the country, I would enjoy seeing Munich and Berlin.

I did try to join our Navy (and Army) about 10 years ago, however, I was declined due to my vision not being perfect. It is 20-20 corrected though.
But you are correct, I think Germany is now just a staging area or in Landstuhl where they go once wounded before coming home. But now with Iran thumbing it's nose at the world I think more troops will be sent there. I am not for war, but I am glad that most of the world agrees on this subject that Iran does not need a nuclear program, at least with it's current leadership.
