marika WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM COMMITTED TO INSPIRING THE STATE OF THE WORLD "The World Economic Forum is an independent international organization committed to improving the state of the world by...

I'm still adrift on this one, but since the comment wasn't addressed to me, I won't belabor it.

mine, 4,550 as of yesterday.

because they'd be buttigned to comb through 4,550 posts. quite a boring and impossibly mind numbing task.

if I was applying for a job as village idiot, I might get it based on my posts.

Usenet psychopaths are funny. Are you sure it wasn't a bot, rather than a real person? It seems that of all the bot programs in the world, psychopathology is the easiest to mimic.

what in particular made it shameless?

Especially, the stockholders, and yet, you confirm quite plainly that it is a common hiring practice for employers to google their applicants names.

marika Google - uproar about the censorship of their Chinese sites Thanks for this link & excerpt! "Toeing China's line on restrictions of free speech: Microsoft, Google and...

I absolutely was not referencing spelling.

I was referencing employers reading usenet posts to determine the political leanings and other items to determine whether or not they should hire people.

I see this as an infringement on speech and the results of an idiot personnel clerk's analysis as unrelated to buttessing my qualifications .

that's not relevant to this discussion. I don't feel I have done anything contrary to google's terms. I do know that employers don't need to google for my name, as the results are voluminous and unreliable to obtain a photograph of whether I am a qualified person.

And yet, some of the other posting services don't observe this rule and I find my email address on webpages that I have not posted to, as other services repost usenet groups in a webformat as if these are their own groups, when they are in fact public.

And the forger may forge my name but not put x no archive instructions in the post and yet slop that I would not want to be buttociated with can get posted.

marika She was not a bot, but someone who had studied psychology, not got a degree and ended up...

Finally, I have discovered that there is another marika5000 on the web who is not me but has interests that do not resemble mine.

How do I suppress these. Especially since many discussion groups redact the second part of the email but I have no way of demonstrating to a future employer that those posts are not related to mine.

while they don't pose a problem today, they may some day in the future if the person does something that I don't want to be buttociated with.

It's all quite theoretical of course, because I am not searching for jobs at this time. Yet, the mere thought that employers are using usenet posts to buttess employees, in lieu of doing the work necessary to research people, is really quite objectionable to me.

I don't regret anything I am about to say, or have said, but I again point out that not every marika5000 reference on the net is mine. And I also point out that even with xpost headers, other websites still archive posts.

Please do continue to buttist Lester, as I think he probably has more talents than his current job uses. Me, I am too old and staid to really enage in such dramatic changes in my life.

Oh and speaking of Google, I am sure you have read the uproar about the censorship of their Chinese sites.
