I don't think you can do anything , other than practive with real live people, invoke the fates or whatever spirits you call on. There used to be a group of folks in the Roanoke Valley that were all immigrants from Eastern Europe, they used to get together once a month, have oktoberfest and what not. You should try and see if they still do get together. There are probably more people around to practice with than you imagine. You should also try the local colleges for a decent course. Really the best way is to actually be forced to converse. Tapes are not the best thing.
Well no harm in contacting them to say hello or whatever to learn more about them.

And last night, I rewatched Lackawanna Blues. Take a minute to watch it if for no other reason than Mos Def and Saul Williams appearing. Saul basically spaces out through the whole thing. But we have history with both of them, coming from Brooklyn slam and Nuyo.
