well but speaking of good performances: i mentioned Epatha Merkerson for having won the Golden Globe for Lackawanna Blues.
Although we have some tangential tie to Mos Def, I think he was miscast as a blues singer, speaking of some inconsistent singing.
Really enjoyed hearing the "Farmville" accents, where the character was supposedly originally from but moved to Lackawanna in NY.
worth the time of seeing, if for not other reason than the connection to VA.
And get this -- TErence Howard, who played the Geechee man lover of Epatha in the movie will soon be starring in a biopic of Thurgood Marshall. I can't WAIT to see that.
