Muslims aren't a race - that's not the issue, is it? However, there are noone who are quicker at claiming racism than muslims when they are spoken out against. I'd like to see anyone try and find an example of christians, or buddhists, or any other major religion claiming racism when they have been spoken out agains in recent years, in western countries. Let me elaborate, finally, on my points about conformity. All countries have laws, norms and standards that are followed by the population. If I were to move to a muslim country, I would have to conform to their such. I accept that. That acceptance, however, is mostly nonexistant in many muslim groups. By all means, we have many hard working, "good" muslims here, but there is a general feeling that the majority of them do not see it as important, or acceptable, to follow christian countries' laws. The view of women is one thing, but viewed in general, the best way of creating conflict is by not following the standards and practices in the place you arrive at. I, for example, would not be well liked if I went around without a shirt, or in just shorts in Iran - I would soon be alienated.
The discussion is stupid, really. It should be self evident that the adapting goes both ways, but in the last decades, there has been no will (with exceptions) among the muslim population in the west to adapt, while westerners have been forced to.
-S- PS; no, I don't think I belong to a superior "race". I do however think that I have a bit more common sense and EQ than those who choose not to adapt and conform to laws and norms.
