**Singapore has a great mbutt transit system. Built by the British. * The Jurong Bird Park was impressive. *Singapore has crap food, compared to almost any Asian (and Australian) city. Hong Kong is VASTLY better. *Singapore is crowded. *The people are much friendlier in Hong Kong and any Japanese city. One of the few friendly locals I met in Singapore (sold me a camera) was planning his third holiday to Australia. He can't get enough of the place. The food, the spectacular scenery, the fact that Australia has different weather, the culture, etc, etc. Most Singaporeans have no idea of life outside a high-rise and a shopping centre. The only other friendly person was a young woman at the Singapore Mint, who was looking forward to a trip to Australia (specifically: Melbourne) in July. She was looking forward to experiencing something different to 30oC-90% humidity. She'll get that in Melbourne. *Singapore is oppressively hot and humid all year 'round. *You can see pretty much all of Singapore in a couple of weeks. Less, if you don't count shopping. *The shopping is pretty good, but we Australians enjoy more than just shopping. Australia is not about a shopping experience. It is much, much more. *Whilst Singapore can experienced in a couple of days, several lifetimes is not enough to experience Australia. *Singapore is OK, but there are far more interesting places to visit. I won't bother returning, unless I want to visit Malaysia, or do some shopping.
