Dear Es,

As with other cultures (label holders) I suspect that women can be treated badly or very well indeed. I have no reason to believe that many Moslem men don't adore their women and the ground they walk on. There is no requirement in The Koran that they are veiled, but there is some advise about keeping themselves wrapped up from the eyes of potentially sinful men. This is common sense and no more than a good Christian mother may say to her daughter i.e. 'I'd rather you put on something decent, or covered yourself up' . A covering is an acknowledgement that we don't trust The Holy Spirit to protect wives or our daughters. So I personally believe that much of the nature against Moslem women speaks volumes about insecurities, thoughts, lack of trust and so forth; all the traits we let go when we welcome The Lord Jesus Christ into our lives.

However, we do live in a sinful world, indeed we all are sinners, so there are times when men will attack girls because they fall under the spell of Satan (darkness), even if they are covered up. There are also times when men will treat women unfairly and give a label to their behaviours to excuse themselves.

"For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; " Eph 5:23 -24

So if you are disturbed by the way some women are treated, regardless of which faith they are in, or not, then it's best to teach them straight from the Bible of the right way, and encourage your community to live in His way too, even if they seem a fairly small community.

It is pure love, forgiveness and Christ in us that people must witness if they too are to want it for themselves.

Jesus tells us that when there are two or three gathered in His name then He is amongst us. You say that we have no power, but we do, we have His power and Holy Spirit. We already know that the veil has been torn apart by His rest on the cross, therefore you do not need to fear any other faith coming before Him.

Because we forgive them for their lack of understanding, as we too have been forgiven. In this forgiveness those who see Christ's light will be given the strength to walk away from being oppressed and seeped in law (if indeed they have been) and they will know that they will find their new fellowship in Christ is solid and non-judgemental, even of those who they have come to love who wish to remain as they were.

Jesus did not condemn. Condemnation does not bring people to bow at His feet. Even when men tried to gain power in His name through the condemnation of others, for example; when they wanted to stone an adulteress and He said "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her" He shows us that it is not in condemnation that power over others is gained, but in forgiveness and non-judgement. It is by following Jesus that you will become a brighter light for others to follow. Do not allow all the things they do, the idiosyncrasies, rituals, the religious laws or habits stop you from loving the people buried under these mountains

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life."
