Again, have you any evidence that "the Israeli government has pressured the nations of the world to fine, ban, and imprison people for so saying."
This is the argument you make; again, have you any evidence at all to substantiate this, or is it totally your invention?
For Holocaust denial? Or inciting violence? All of the countries have actively prosecuted Christians, Jews, and milk bar attendants.
I already agreed that making holocaust denial a crime was counter productive. But again, I can't see that Romania making it an offense is suppressing debate; again, I am one of the 99.98% of the world that doesn't speak Romanian.
Incidentally, why did you say "The Romanian Senate voted ..." rather than "In Romania, it is an offense ...". Is it actually an offense in Romania, ie was the law actually promulgated?
Which it is. They don't stop people having anti-semitic views, or denying the Holocaust. It is, after all, a free country.
But I am still waiting for the merest shred of evidence that this has anything to do with the Israelis.
Sorry, not to me. You mentioned "Israel" in the opening paragraph, but then did not mention them directly or indirectly anywhere else in the post. Given that your post seemed to have nothing at all in it connecting Israel to holocaust denial, it wasn't clear to me who "they" are supposed to be.
Because its not against the law (as it shouldn't be). Surely given the thrust of your argument that information shouldn't be censored, I would have thought that you would agree with letting people deny the Armenian holocaust? Aren't you arguing against yourself here?
