Where as New Guinea is part of the Australian continent which neither Asians nor Europeans had occupied, the first Dutch claim to West Papua was in 1848 which Britain and Germany disputed until their agreement of 1895. It was only after Germany established a trading post near the border with the Dutch claim that Holland decided to established their own trading post and 'Capital' near the German claim territory of New Guinea.
The problem with uneducated people like Yahya is that they fail to understand that two colonies, just like two continents, are not the same place just because they are near to each other.
Subtle differences, Java & Sumatra being Asian with monkeys and on the Asian continental shelf - where as New Guinea is populated with kangaroos and echidna on the Australian continental shelf. Apparently too complex a concept for people with an Indonesian education to comprehend.
