Ethnic Gang Crime A sad indictment of the Laber Party
How the politics of sheer populism led to racial riots The Cronulla debacle is a sad indictment of the Labor Party The...

We know that what we have now isn't working, otherwise Josh and thousands like him wouldn't have got hooked on the stuff and criminals wouldn't be making a fortune. The only reason is isn't worse is that once some people get the gear they need they can at least go to somewhere half civilised to make themselves normal again till the next time. The risk from not changing anything is to me way higher than getting some sense into the situation.

By the time they know it's not a real good idea, they have no choice. That's no argument to me at all. It's like going to a car accident site and saying to the people involved, 'See what happens?" Bloody hell, they already *know* what happens - and frankly, even when other people see it, it doesn't seem to make a tap of difference to the road toll. Josh has a habit - a disease in fact - he can only control by being a criminal and risking his life every time he has to go to score. How stupid is it to force him into that? He's already been 'punished' for falling into the trap by not being able to get off the stuff. Isn't that enough? He's just an ordinary kid who needs to regulate his condition. It's insane to make him keep paying and keep crims in cash, and junkies robbing and bashing people to get the money they need for the high prices, possible bad quality stuff they have no choice - repeat, no choice - but to take. Madness!

Very silly argument. There is no safe limit for injection but it does have the appeal to teenagers of being illicit. If it were regulated and deromanticised, it would lose its appeal very quickly.

It's not a question of not doing it because it's illegal - that stops very few - your kids don't do it because they don't want to end up addicted to something that will contagion their system. Good for them. Good for mine. Too bad about Josh.

THE RISE OF THE PAPACY
THE RISE OF THE PAPACY AN ecclesiastic, who paid heavily for his benefice at Rome (an offence known as Simony), was once asked...

Simplistic as that, mate, I'm afraid. The illegality of it now is the thing that makes it *far* more exciting to teenagers, like playing dare. Your way is giving them exactly what they want to make it attractive. My way would take all the fun and mystique out of it.

If drugs were regularised and controlled, everyone would sleep a hell of a lot better, knowing that they were less likely to get robbed or mugged or that the stuff held very little appeal to their children. You have it so back to front I can hardly believe it, but I know it's pointless having this argument with you.

I'll leave it to others.
