The richie richs may well want to maintain their current purchasing power -so that they can buy villas on s. of france-tuscany, and collect goodies at Christie's auctions regularly (and not to mention put the entire 3rd world to work for peanuts).

I read a statement about acquiring better education to ensure your job doesn't get outsourced. What the economists fail to tell you is that the blue collar workers replacing your blue collar workers in China, Mexico etc.. aren't educated either. Likewise many of the s-w engrs replacing american engrs in India are learning on the job -and many a times getting trained by the v less- than-adequately-educated americans that they are going to replace!!. What I can tell you and the economists wouldn't is that 2.5 billion people between India and China re sufficient to absorb more jobs than can be generated by any kind of economic boom in the US, and the quality of work is comparable to the v best in the US. Whoever thinks people in 3rd world countries cannot rise beyond a certain intellectual; threshold is out of touch with reality.
The US prospered by supplying arms to the WW II theatre without suffering any collateral damage (on account of its distance). But right now, no country is suffering as much economically as the US with its invasions.
