Barry OGrady
Barry, this is not a topic for jesting. It is very serious, especially when the present world situation is considered.
The information I have is that Mohammed, although illiterate because of lack of educational opportunities, must have had a high degree of intelligence as he was able to learn of the Jewish and Christian scriptures from the camel drivers he met as he was a merchant. He also was of the opinion that the Triune God was God, the Father, God, the Son - Jesus Christ, and Mary, the mother of God. That last aspect of the nature of the One God came from the fact that as missionaries went from the Church at Rome they found that the indigenous peoples of the Mediterranean area did not understand that a man, Jesus Christ, could be Saviour as they worshipped fertility goddesses made from clay in the hope of producing more children. (I became aware of that when I was doing a College of Advanced Education course in Ceramics - the buttignment being Ceramics Around the World.)
Mary, the mother of Jesus, was then given a more prominent role than she has in the New Testament scriptures. .
Mohammed was of the opinion that the Triune God was akin to polytheism. The people of Mecca were polytheistic in their beliefs. .
It is possible that Mohammed, who is recorded as suffering from epilesy as a child, continued to have epileptic seizures as an adult. and may have been in such a state when he believed an angel was speaking to him.
When he gave those messages to the people of Mecca they did not accept it. He went across country to Medina and people there did accept his teaching. Mohammed then took a party of men back to Mecca and fought against them.
Mohammed's teachings, as recorded in the Koran, are about 75% from the Old Testament and about 7% from the New Testament of the Bible.
Mohammed and Jesus are descendents from Abraham, the former through Ishmael, Abraham's son by Hagar, his wife's servant and the latter through Isaac, by his wife Sarah in their old age, when it was thought they could not have natural children, but were promised by God that it would be so. .
CHERTOFF AND MOSSAD + 911serwad google.video has lots of them. and they look just like what was on CNN, FOX, MSNBC, etc... because...
The tragedy is that there has been enmity up to the present day between the two groups of Abraham's descendents.
For that emnity to stop it does require a lot of hard thinking to overcome the indoctrinations of many generations
I do not post this out of any antagonistic feeling against anyone of the Islamic faith I have met a number of persons of that faith who are lovely persons. Indoctrinations from childhood can become very deep in the subconscious brain, that need to be carefully examined in later life to determine whether they are true or not.
The explosion of information that is now available through many electronic means does mean that should be an exercise for all of us so that we can give an answer when asked about our beliefs.
I have come across an answer to one of your questionings.in other posts. In an imagined conversation betwen God and the author is the following extract:- God: The world is not as I made it..... Ever since the first humans chose to disregard my instructions the world has been cursed with brokennness Yet I am making all things new
Mohammed and Jesus Christ 2095That's not an answer, it's sleight of hand. God is omnipotent, so God could sort it in an instant. But apparently, He chooses not to. There is no reasoning good enough to allow preventable hideous...
Sher: But you are all-powerful. You could do something now.
God:- Do you think I do not care? Do you think I turn away from the sight of suffering? Do you think that I not grieve at every attack on the humanity that I created to live with me? What do you suggest that I do?
Sher: Stop the evil! Change the world!
God: The day is coming when all the evil will cease, my friend. But when that day comes there will be no chance left to choose. Each one's reward will be given, each person's destiny will be set. Many are not ready for Me to come as their judge. In the meantime, I call you to begin the process of rebuilding the world.
Sher: But, still....
God: Will you trust me in this?
