Let us talk about here and now. The crusades were in the 14th century, for Chrissakes! And what about the provocations that led to the crusades? The Crusades happened because for 500 years Islam had been gobbling up Christian lands and converting christians to Islam by the sword. All that today is considered moslem land in arabia - Syria, Iraq, Palestine etc. was once Christian land, which was converted by force. The crusades were christianity's answer to this 500 years of aggression.
If you want to go that far back in history, then let us examine that event more closely and see why it came about.
In any case, all that is irrelevant today. The very fact that you have to go that far back to point to something makes the point.
Today Moslems are free to worship their faith in any christian country without fear. The reverse is absolutely not true - in moslem countries such as Saudi Arabia, churches are not even allowed to be constructed. Hell, even in countries like Sudan, Niger, Phillippines where only parts of the country are moslem, they have imposed their sharia laws and harbutt christian civilians. Throughout the world, whether in Europe, Asia, or AFrica, Moslems are refusing to live in societies as secular citizens with people of other faiths. This is not an isolated incident - this is something that is sickeningly routine wherever moslem populations congregate. And as a non moslem, I am rightly frightened of this phenomenon, as are millions of other non moslems.
Don't you think that moslems ought to give us the same rights in their countries as we grant them in ours? And don't you agree that demanding this parity is only natural, only fair and in keeping with civilised conduct? Why are the apologists always trying to obfuscate this basic fact - that moslems are intolerant of non moslems whenever their numbers are large enough - whether in the french ghetto, in Chechnya, in Bradford, in Saudi Arabia, in Indonesia, in southern Phillippines, in Afghanistan, in.... the list is endless. How much more evidence do you need?
