What has that to do with a national revolt against an unwanted outside military government ripping them off? Nationalist revolts will tend to use whatever means are necessary to gain freedom. It isn't the instigators who get the wealth or power that goes with overthrow of an oppressor - it is the smart politicians who sit in the background and manipulate the situation to suit themselves.
