No argument here (statement of fact), so no criticism necessary. In fact, I'll go one further. The fault lines don't only extend between the Widdle East, South Asia, and the west. It extends between the east and between the west. In other words, we are rapidly becoming as divided on these issues as are the countries of the Middle East and South Asia. Look at what is going on in Thailand, the Phillipines, between India and Pakistan, as well as among Europeans, just to name a few.

Hmm. One doesn't follow from the other. We have a lot of "ethnic ghettos" here in the states, and I certainly don't see anyone from them rushing out to try to blow up our subways or buses. The only significant homegrown person incident here in recent memory (the Oklahoma planting) was perpetrated by a racist White Army brat from the middle clbutt. I live in a mixed race neighborhood that has one of the lowest crime rates in the city (a city of some 800,000 people). The problem is not the "ethnic ghettos", although they certainly have their problems. The problem is radical Islam and the failure of governments to help second generation Muslims buttimilate into Western Society to prevent them from reverting extremism.

I think you exagerate the fear that exists in Australia. Or are you trying to tell me that a couple of incidents has got you pooting in your pants? Come on, mate. Have some balls. Show the persons what you are made of. At least the Brits keep a "stiff upper lip" about it, and don't go soiling their pants every time there is an incident. No doubt, the Bali planting was a terrible thing for anyone to experience, and I pray for all of the victims. But don't pull a Spain on us just because these guys are trying to scare you. You do know that fear is their only real weapon, don't you? As FDR once said, "the only thing you have to fear is fear itself".

How many Australian aborigines have been raped by white settlers over the last 200 years? You cannot blame an entire ethnic group for the actions of individuals. The KKK tried that in the American south, and it backfired on them big time. No one takes them seriously anymore.

We have a Pakistani working in our state government. He's one of the most brilliant geologists I've ever met, and is as tame as a mouse. He is also one of the nicest guys I've ever met. Again, you can't blame an entire group for the actions of a few. Put the blame where it belongs - with the perpetrators of these crimes. And then hit them hard.
