I know you are being patriotic, but in a childish sort of way. Let's admit it, everybody blew it. But, since you ask:
1. This was an anticipated and predicted disaster. You get there before anything floods or collapses. If Superdome is a designated shelter, have it prepared, staffed and stocked. Open a few other shelters out of the hurricane's path. Etc.
2. Even after the disaster struck, by what logic are security and relief personnel prevented from getting to the spots that refugees, looters, and reporters can reach?
This excuse belongs in the same clbutt as FEMA's that they didn't know there were refugees inside Convention Center when reproters were there and hundreds of channels were broadcasting the pictures.
Competent action is better than immature whining. Ask your bank to buttign a different person to your account; if they won't, change the bank. Just as Americans should fire this government.
BTW, not just India but many countries do a lot better. The US can also do a great job. Nobody is saying they dodn't have the ability, much of the outrage is because people know they could have done better. The difference is taking a responsibility seriously, planning, and trying. That's a concept Federal, State, and Municipal governments didn't have in this case.
